After more work than I care to discuss, we shoved off from Port Annapolis Marina and headed north, up the Chesapeake, towards the C&D canal.
The weather was just about perfect, about 10 knots of wind from the north, but we were able to sail the whole way, hard on the not very hard wind.
We had a late start, so didn't arrive in Veasy Cove, near the canal, until 7:30, but that was early enough for a quick tidy, a well deserved cocktail, and a beautiful sunset.
Not bad for a first
day.
Tomorrow we are off very early to catch the tide through the canal, and then down the dreaded Delaware (see my book), to the Cape Henlopen anchorage.
From there, we shall see! Stay tuned.

BTW, if you want to be notified when we post (most days), click the ‘follow’ button under ‘Friends of Cabin Boy’ in the left side bar. I won’t be able to send email notifications while at sea.
Next Up: Down the Delaware
John, I'm already learning more geography using Google maps to follow your first steps... first wake? Gary
